A Novel Modified Petroresin Particle (MPRP) With Enhanced Oil–Water Selectivity for Cold Production in Heavy Oil Reservoirs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel oil–water selective conformance control agent, MPRP, is prepared via hydrophilic grafting and mechanical granulation. MPRP uniformly disperses in water, cohesively expands upon aging, and readily dissolves in the oil phase. During conformance control, it selectively aggregates in water channeling pathways to form effective plugs without ...

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis deals with the problem of gas/wall interaction and boundary conditions in rarefied gas flows. Recent developments in microsystems and atmospheric re-entry flight let appear new flow fields where boundary conditions are very important.

Synergistic Solar Interfacial Evaporation and Photocatalysis Enabled by a Hierarchical Porous Hydrogel Reactor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A tree‐inspired hydrogel interfacial reactor couples solar evaporation with photocatalysis for simultaneous desalination and waste water treatment. The bilayer design achieves 2.14 kg·m−2·h−1 evaporation rate with 79% dye degradation under one sun, demonstrating that photothermal heating and evaporation induced pollutant enrichment create a self ...

Direct Channel Implantation of B and BF2 Ions for Functional Control of Oxygen Vacancies in Oxide Semiconductor Thin Film Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Direct channel implantation of B and BF2 ions was employed to fabricate amorphous IGZO TFTs with improved electrical and stability properties. B and BF2 implantation modulate oxygen vacancies within the IGZO channel. The field‐effect mobility of ion‐implanted IGZO TFTs was enhanced as compared to pristine IGZO TFTs.

Nonequilibrium Molecular Velocity Distribution Functions Predicted by Macroscopic Gas Dynamic Models

open access: yesMathematics
In the present study, abilities of various macroscopic models (Navier–Stokes–Fourier, Burnett, original and regularized Grad’s 13-moment equations) in predicting the nonequilibrium molecular velocity distribution are examined.

Mechanistic Control of C─H Bond Activation and C─C Coupling in Light‐Driven Methane Conversion to C2+ Products over Multifunctional Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Methane photocatalytic activation under mild conditions remains a formidable challenge in the synthesis of solar fuels. In this review, we emphasize the growing importance of multifunctional materials and hybrid systems within a unified mechanistic framework that integrates selective C─H bond activation, formation and control of intermediates, C─C ...
