Control and Management of Multiple RATs in Wireless Networks: An SDN Approach [PDF]
Telecom operators are using a variety of Radio Access Technologies (RATs) for providing services to mobile subscribers. This development has emphasized the requirement for unified control and management of diverse RATs. Although multiple RATs co-exist within today's cellular networks, each RAT is controlled by a set of different entities. This may lead

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Speed and accuracy in a visual motion discrimination task as performed by rats [PDF]
We find that rats, like primates and humans, perform better on the random dot motion task when they take more time to respond. We provide evidence that this improvement is due to stimulus integration. Rats increase their response latency modestly as a function of trial difficulty.

Intra- and Interspecies Analyses of the Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) Gene Family Reveal Independent Evolution in Primates and Rodents [PDF]
Various rodent and primate DNAs exhibit a stronger intra- than interspecies cross-hybridization with probes derived from the N-terminal domain exons of human and rat carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)-like genes.

In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

On the Limits of Coexisting Coverage and Capacity in Multi-RAT Heterogeneous Networks [PDF]
This paper devises a general modeling and analyzing framework for a heterogeneous wireless network (HetNet) in which several wireless subnetworks coexist and use multiple radio access technologies (multi-RATs). The coexisting coverage and network capacity in such a multi-RAT HetNet are hardly investigated in prior works.

IN regard to the distribubution of the black rat (Mus rattus), your correspondent may be glad to know that this animal, spread over the States in early days, but has since been supplanted, as in England, by the brown rat (M. decumanus). Forty years ago the black rat was the only rat in South-west Ohio. About thirty years ago the brown rat drove him out.

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.
