Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

methyl bromide loss rate constants in the north Pacific Ocean [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The degration rate constant of CH 3Br in the North Pacific Ocean was measured in surface seawater between September and October 1999, using a stable isotope ( 13CH 3Br) incubation technique. Total degradation rate constants ranged from 0.02 to 0.43 d -1,

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Rates of Acid-Catalyzed NH Proton Exchange of Enaminones, an 1H NMR Study [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2000
: 1H NMR spectra of a series of enaminones R-CO-CH=C(NHCH2Ph)-R  [1, R=CH3; 2, R=C6H5; 3, R=CF3; 4, R=CH2CH2CH2; 5, R=CH2C(CH3)2CH2], were obtained in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid in CDCl3 or DMSO-d6 at 28 °C.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
