Atrial Fibrillation in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

open access: yesJACC: Advances
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is common among patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) with a prevalence greater than 25%. AF in HCM is associated with a high risk of stroke and can be a marker of more advanced cardiomyopathy.

Revisiting Learning Rate Control

open access: yesCoRR
The learning rate is one of the most important hyperparameters in deep learning, and how to control it is an active area within both AutoML and deep learning research. Approaches for learning rate control span from classic optimization to online scheduling based on gradient statistics.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Region-of-Interest Based Coding Scheme for Live Videos

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In this paper, we introduce a novel rate control scheme specifically tailored for live broadcasting scenarios. Notably, in high-definition live transmissions of sports events and video game competitions that typically exceed 1080 p resolution and run at ...

Equilibrium properties of rate control protocols [PDF]

open access: yes2015 10th International Conference for Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST), 2015
We analyze the stability of the Rate Control Protocol (RCP) using two different models that have been proposed in literature. Our objective is to better understand the impact of the protocol parameters and the effect different forms of feedback have on the stability of the network.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Cooperative Rate Control in ATM Networks

open access: yes, 2011
This paper introduces the concept of a bottleneck-switches cooperation in the explicit rate-control framework of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) networks. The proposed controller regulates the rates of available bit rate (ABR) traffic class and requires

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

V2X application-reliability analysis of data-rate and message-rate congestion control algorithms

open access: yes, 2017
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) require Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication. In dense traffic, the communication channel may become congested, impairing the reliability of the ITS safety applications. Therefore, European Telecommunications
