Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Control of mechanical systems with constraints: two pendulums case study
A method for control of mechanical systems under phase constraints, applicable to energy control of Hamiltonian systems is proposed. The constrained energy control problem for two pendulums by a single control action is studied both analytically and ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Optimal control for systems with varying sampling rate [Elektronisk resurs]
The paper addresses the aspects of control of real time systems with varying sampling rate. An example is given in which a stable continuous system is sampled at two different sampling rates.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Control Design for Multi-Feeder Dosing System Using Kalman Filtering
reservedThis thesis presents a control and estimation framework for multi-feeder dosing systems, addressing the challenges of feeder dynamics in weight measurements. Kalman Filter is developed to estimate feeder flow rates using noisy weight data.

Product flow rate control in ball mill grinding process using fuzzy logic controller
This paper shows a strategy for the fuzzy logic control system using an offline simulated ball mill grinding approach. In this study, a step change in the force reference signal is considered a disturbance.
