Secular non-secular master equation

open access: yes, 2017
Redfield non-secular master equation governing relaxation of a spin in weak interaction with a thermal bath is studied. Using the fact that the relaxation follows the exponential law, we prove that in most cases the semi-secular approximation is ...

Two sufficient conditions for Poisson approximations in the ferromagnetic Ising model

open access: yes, 2008
A $d$-dimensional ferromagnetic Ising model on a lattice torus is considered. As the size of the lattice tends to infinity, two conditions ensuring a Poisson approximation for the distribution of the number of occurrences in the lattice of any given ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

A study of (σ, μ)-Stancu-Schurer as a new generalization and approximations

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
The goal of this manuscript is to introduce a new sequence as (σ, μ)-Stancu-Schurer operators. Further, some estimates are calculated as test functions and central moments.

Economy of Effort or Maximum Rate of Information? Exploring Basic Principles of Articulatory Dynamics

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Economy of effort, a popular notion in contemporary speech research, predicts that dynamic extremes such as the maximum speed of articulatory movement are avoided as much as possible and that approaching the dynamic extremes is necessary only when there ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Stancu type q-Bernstein operators with shifted knots

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
In the present paper, Stancu type generalizations of the q-analog of Lupaş Bernstein operators with shifted knots are introduced. Some approximation results and rate of convergence for these operators are investigated.

On the Rates of Approximation of Bernstein Type Operators

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 2001
The asymptotic behavior of two Bernstein-Type operators is studied. In the first case, the rate of convergence of a Bernstein operator for a bounded founction \(f\) is studied at points \(x\) where \(f(x+)\) and \(f(x-)\) exist. In the second case, the rate of convergence of a Szász operator for a function of \(f\) whose derivative is of bounded ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Filtering the Tau method with Frobenius-Pad\'e Approximants

open access: yes, 2017
In this work, we use rational approximation to improve the accuracy of spectral solutions of differential equations. When working in the vicinity of solutions with singularities, spectral methods may fail their propagated spectral rate of convergence and
