In the framework of next-generation communication systems, Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) has attracted considerable interest. The fundamental advantage is that it has greater spectrum utilization than its orthogonal equivalents.

Errors on ratios of small numbers of events [PDF]
Abstract The correct expression for the error on the ratio of numbers of events is given. Values are tabulated for small numbers of events. Conventionally the normal approximation is used, yielding too small errors. We re-evaluate the errors on some published experimental ratios in e+ e− physics and in neutrino physics.

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Minimize the Prediction Error in External Consensus Problem using Gain Error Ratio Formula
This paper discusses the external consensus problem for non-identical networked multi-agent systems (NMAS) with network data loss, considering uniform consecutive data losses (CDL) induced by long periods of transmission failure. A gain error ratio (GER)

Sidelobe Suppression with Resolution Maintenance for SAR Images via Sparse Representation
Severe sidelobe interference is one of the major problems with traditional Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging. In the observation scene of sea areas, the number of targets in the observation scene is so small that targets can be regarded as sparse ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Measuring of Block Error Rates in High-Speed Digital Networks
Error characteristics is a decisive factor for the digital networks transmission quality definition. The ITU – TG.826 and G.828 recommendations identify error parameters for high – speed digital networks in relation to G.821 recommendation.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
