Rational Hypergeometric Functions [PDF]
Compositio Mathematica, 2001 Multivariate hypergeometric functions associated with toric varieties were introduced by Gel'fand, Kapranov and Zelevinsky. Singularities of such functions are discriminants, that is, divisors projectively dual to torus orbit closures.
