The Small GTPase RHO1 Regulates ROS Homeostasis and Differentially Responds to Pathogens Infection via Interaction With Aquaporin TIP1;1 in Nicotiana

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 9, September 2026.
The RHO1‐TIP1;1 interaction affects the compartmentalization of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cytoplasm and vacuoles, promotes the accumulation of ROS in cytoplasm, leading to different responses of plant cells to pathogens with different lifestyles.

Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus C4 Suppresses Antiviral Immunity by Targeting the 14‐3‐3 Protein SlTFT2

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 9, September 2026.
TYLCV C4 interacts with tomato 14‐3‐3 SlTFT2, a positive regulator of antiviral defence. C4 reduces SlTFT2 nuclear accumulation via this interaction, suppressing host immunity. Residue S86 is critical for this interaction; its mutation (S86A/S86L) attenuates viral infectivity, revealing a viral subversion mechanism.
