Machine Learning Prediction of Time-Varying Rayleigh Channels

open access: yes, 2021
Channel state information (CSI) rapidly becomes outdated in high mobility scenarios, degrading the performance of wireless communication systems. In these cases, time series prediction techniques can be applied to combat the effects of outdated CSI. Recently, it has been shown that recurrent neural networks (RNNs) exhibit outstanding performance in ...

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.

LDPC concatenated space-time block coded system in multipath fading environment: Analysis and evaluation [PDF]

open access: yesMaejo International Journal of Science and Technology, 2011
Irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes have been found to show exceptionally good performance for single antenna systems over a wide class of channels. In this paper, the performance of LDPC codes with multiple antenna systems is investigated in

Crack Repair in Hydroxyapatite Bioceramics Using an Ultraviolet Ultrafast Laser

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The study proposes an ultrafast ultraviolet laser approach to repair hidden tooth cracks, which has been preliminarily validated on HAP. Moreover, this technique aims to strengthen the native enamel structure rather than introducing a foreign filling material.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

WAVELET MODULATION PERFORMANCE IN FADING CHANNELS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2008
Wavelet modulation simultaneously sends dataat multiple rates through an unknown channel. Preuiousresearch has demonstrated that wauelet modulation biterror rate performance in the additive, white, Gaussiannoise channel is comparable to theoretical ...

Rayleigh Fading Multiple Access Channel Without Channel State Information [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we determine bounds of the capacity region of a two-user multiple-access channel with Rayleigh fading when neither the transmitters nor the receiver has channel state information (CSI). We assume that the fading coefficients as well as the additive noise are zero-mean complex Gaussian and there is an average power constraint at the ...

A Quest for the Mechanism of Ultrahigh Resolution SEM Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using Monte Carlo simulations with explicit definitions of SE1 and SE2 align with a cascade secondary electron production model, this work shows that the 3D nanostructure modulated SE2 emission enhances other than to reduce topographical contrast via a “miniature Faraday cup” effect.
