Adjuvant Razoxane in Resectable Colorectal Cancer

open access: yes, 1980
Survival of patients with resectable colorectal cancer (CRC) has not been materially influenced during the last 20 years by either adjuvant chemotherapy or any new surgical development. Attempts to influence survival in CRC by adjuvant chemotherapy are limited by the fact that of the few drugs that have shown activity in the advanced form of this ...

The promise and challenges of cell therapy for psoriasis*

open access: yesBritish Journal of Dermatology, Volume 185, Issue 5, Page 887-898, November 2021., 2021
Summary The management of moderate‐to‐severe psoriasis has been transformed by the introduction of biological therapies. These medicines, particularly those targeting interleukin (IL)‐17 and IL‐23p19, can offer clear or nearly clear skin for the majority of patients with psoriasis, with good long‐term drug survival.

Combination of radiotherapy and razoxane (ICRF 159) for chondrosarcoma [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1979
Eight patients with 12 chondrosarcomas were treated with radiation and razoxane (ICRF 159). Two tumors in 1 patient progressed unequivocally, 3 tumors in 3 patients showed no change, and 7 tumors in 5 patients had complete or partial (more than 50%) regressions.

Fe‐EDTA‐Bisamide and Fe‐ADR‐925, The Iron‐Bound Hydrolysis Product of the Cardioprotective Agent Dexrazoxane, Cleave DNA Via the Hydroxyl Radical

open access: yesMetal-Based Drugs, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 199-205, 1997., 1997
Use of the antitumor drug doxorubicin is limited by cardiomyopathic side‐effects which are believed to be due to iron‐mediated hydroxyl radical generation. Dexrazoxane reduces this cardiotoxicity, possibly by removal of iron from doxorubicin by the EDTA‐like hydrolysis product of dexrazoxane, ADR‐925. However, EDTA‐diimides like dexrazoxane, previously

Preparation and Crystal Structure of a Platinum(II) Complex of [CH2N(CH2COOH)CH2CONH2]2, the Hydrolysis Product of an Anti‐Tumour Bis(3,5‐Dioxopiperazin‐1‐YL)Alkane

open access: yesMetal-Based Drugs, Volume 1, Issue 4, Page 321-328, 1994., 1994
The synthesis and crystal and molecular structures of the platinum(II) complex Pt(HL)Cl where H2L is the diacid diamide –[CH2N(CH2COOH)CH2CONH2] 2, a hydrolytic metabolite of an antitumour active bis(3,5‐dioxopiperazin‐1‐yl)alkane are reported. The complex is square planar and contains HL− as a tridentate 2N (amino), O (carboxylate) donor. The metal to

Water‐Soluble Ruthenium(III)‐Dimethyl Sulfoxide Complexes: Chemical Behaviour and Pharmaceutical Properties

open access: yesMetal-Based Drugs, Volume 1, Issue 1, Page 41-63, 1994., 1993
In this paper we report a review of the results obtained in the last few years by our group in the development of ruthenium(III) complexes characterized by the presence of sulfoxide ligands and endowed with antitumor properties. In particular, we will focus on ruthenates of general formula Na[trans‐RuCl4(R1R2SO)(L)], where R1R2SO = dimethylsulfoxide ...
