Fixed/Predefined-Time Synchronization for Delayed Memristive Reaction-Diffusion Neural Networks Subject to Stochastic Disturbances

open access: yesAxioms
This paper investigates the fixed-time (FXT) and predefined-time (PDT) synchronization of memristive neural networks (MNNs) subject to stochastic disturbances, reaction-diffusion terms, and time delays. First, a new PDT stability criterion is established

Resistance Rapid Heating of Aluminum Coatings in an Extreme High Vacuum–Adequate Atmosphere for Hot Stamping

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

Homogenization of a system of semilinear diffusion-reaction equations in an H^{1,p} setting

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article, homogenization of a system of semilinear multi-species diffusion-reaction equations is shown. The presence of highly nonlinear reaction rate terms on the right-hand side of the equations make the model difficult to analyze. We obtain

Existence of a Global Attractor for the Reaction–Diffusion Equation with Memory and Lower Regularity Terms

open access: yesMathematics
This paper investigates the large time behavior for the reaction–diffusion equation with memory and the forcing term g∈H−1(Ω). We prove the existence of a global attractor in L2(Ω)×Lμ2(R;H01(Ω)).

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

How a reaction-diffusion signal can control spinal cord regeneration in axolotls: A modeling study

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Axolotls are uniquely able to completely regenerate the spinal cord after amputation. The underlying governing mechanisms of this regenerative response have not yet been fully elucidated.

Interaction of MgO Recyclate‐Based Cermet Anode With KF‐AlF3‐Al2O3 at 800°C During Laboratory Scale Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A carbon‐free, as‐sintered MgO–steel cermet anode, fabricated via cold isostatic pressing using MgO–C refractory recyclate, was evaluated under laboratory‐scale K‐cryolite electrolysis at 800°C. Operation at this reduced temperature, combined with the electrolyte's limited electrical conductivity, led to an increase in cell voltage.

Toward Low‐Consumable Anodes: Process Simulation and Prospective Life Cycle Assessment of NiFe2O4‐NiO‐Ni‐Cu vs. Prebaked Anodes for Aluminum Production with use of Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐consumable nickel ferrite‐based anodes for the Hall–Héroult process are compared with conventional prebaked carbon anodes using thermodynamic simulation and prospective life cycle assessment under contrasting future electricity system pathways from 2025 to 2050.
