Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Optimization of Cellular Automata Model for Moving Bottlenecks in Urban Roads

open access: yesApplied Sciences
One of the key reasons why the road capacity of urban roads in China often fails to meet the designed capacity is the mixture of heavy vehicles (slow-moving) and light vehicles (fast-moving).

Chemical Reaction Effects on Stretching/Shrinking Vertical Surface in Stagnation Point Flow

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering, 2019
The effects of chemical reaction on nanofluid vertical surface were considered on the flow of stagnation point. The numerical results were obtained by MATLAB to observe the impacts of the parameter of chemical reaction to the governing parameters. The results are graphically portrayed to observe the presence of dual solutions.

Isospin Dynamics in Heavy Ion Collisions: from Coulomb Barrier to Quark Gluon Plasma

open access: yes, 2008
Heavy Ion Collisions (HIC) represent a unique tool to probe the in-medium nuclear interaction in regions away from saturation. In this report we present a selection of new reaction observables in dissipative collisions particularly sensitive to the ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Integrated Effect of Fines Migration and Mineral Reactions during Flow in Porous Media

open access: yes, 2021
Fines migration can cause permeability damage during water injection into aquifers or petroleum reservoirs. However, previous fines migration studies did not consider mineral reactions. This thesis investigates whether mineral reactions can cause fines migration, and if so, how this would influence permeability.
