Highly Active Cu14 Cluster Precisely Activates Autophagy Inhibitor to Amplify Cuproptosis Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An atomically precise Cu14 cluster‐mediated bond scission reaction pioneers the amplification of the antitumor immune response via synergetic cuproptosis‐associated immunogenic cell death induction and in situ autophagy blockade. ABSTRACT Transition metal‐mediated cleavage mechanisms have emerged as an effective means to mitigate the off‐target ...

A Brazilian glycoprotein E-negative bovine herpesvirus type 1.2a (BHV-1.2a) mutant is attenuated for cattle and induces protection against wild-type virus challenge [PDF]

open access: yes
The authors previously reported the construction of a glycoprotein E-deleted (gE-) mutant of bovine herpesvirus type 1.2a (BHV-1.2a). This mutant, 265gE-, was designed as a vaccinal strain for differential vaccines, allowing the distinction between ...

Utilization of Used Bleaching Clay in Pellet Fuel Production with Torrefied Oil Palm Fronds

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
Torrefaction oil palm fronds was studied as a renewable biomass resource for efficient and sustainable pellet fuel production. Employing microwave heating during torrefaction, the process optimized the conditions to enhance the fuel properties. At 300 °C

Organ‐Specific and Conserved Regulatory Logic Orchestrates Gene Expression in the Embryonic Mesothelium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated multi‐omic profiling maps the gene‐regulatory landscape of the coelomic mesothelium across heart, lung, and pancreas. A cardiac‐restricted regulatory program is uncovered in which TBX20 activates heart mesothelial (epicardial) cis‐regulatory elements, while MAF emerges as a conserved regulator of mesothelial identity.

Effects of viscosity and ATP concentration on the movement of reactivated sea-urchin sperm flagella [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
1. Spermatozoa from the sea urchin, Lytechinus pictus, can be demembranated with solutions containing Triton X-100 and 5mM-CaCl2 and reactivated in ATP solutions containing low concentrations (10^(−9)M) Of free Ca^(2+) ion to give symmetrical bending ...

Home-monitoring for neovascular age-related macular degeneration in older adults within the UK: the MONARCH diagnostic accuracy study

open access: yesHealth Technology Assessment
Background Most neovascular age-related macular degeneration treatments involve long-term follow-up of disease activity. Home monitoring would reduce the burden on patients and those they depend on for transport, and release clinic appointments for other

THE REACTIVATED THYMUS [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Internal Medicine, 1917
"Persistent thymus" has been a term in the literature, though a term about which much skepticism has gathered. But it is gradually becoming established as a fact that the thymic parenchyma persists throughout life, and that this parenchyma may become reactivated to the extent that its secretion influences the endocrine equilibrium. The causes of such a

Pholidota‐Inspired Electronic Skin Possessing Terahertz‐Wave Reflection–Absorption–Transmission Switchability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The pholidota‐inspired electronic skin is successfully constructed, originally realized four‐state reversible switching of terahertz‐wave reflection, absorption, transmission, and secondary reflection. In response to external demands, it issues deformation instructions, verifies the deformation state after the equipment executes the action, and thus ...

Recent Advances in the Study of Alphaherpesvirus Latency and Reactivation: Novel Guidance for the Design of Herpesvirus Live Vector Vaccines

open access: yesPathogens
Alphaherpesviruses, including herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2), and varicella-zoster virus (VZV), infect a diverse array of hosts, spanning both humans and animals.

CD4+ Tregs Drive Post‐Ischemic Sprouting Angiogenesis via Endothelial YY1/MAML1 Reactivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microvascular complications of diabetes are chronic diseases of small vessels. We previously found that CD4+ regulatory T‐cells (Tregs) are markedly reduced in type 2 diabetes (T2D) after ischemic injury in both mice and humans, and that Treg deficiency in immunodeficient mice impairs vascular regeneration.
