Chemical Processes Applied To Reactive Extrusion Of Polymers

Annual Review of Materials Research, 1991
Many commercial polymers such as polyamides, polyesters, and poly olefins undergo a final processing step in which polymer from a reactor tank is fed to an extruder. Molten polymer is conveyed continuously by a screw or pair of screws down the hollow barrel of the extruder to an exit die from which material is extruded into fine strands.

Reactive Extrusion Printing of Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework Films

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces
An outstanding challenge for the field of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is structuring to form forms with greater useability. Reactive extrusion printing (REP) is a technique for the direct formation of films from their molecular components on-demand and on-location.
