Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

On the Mutual Influence of Voltage Control Modes and the Compensation of Reactive Power in the Electrical Networks of Industrial Enterprises

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2021
The efficiency of an enterprise’s power supply system depends on the quality of electricity and the losses of the latter in electrical networks; both being largely determined by the modes of voltage control and reactive power compensation.

Performance Analysis of Shunt Reactive Power Compensators

open access: yes2009 Third Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation, 2009
This paper offers comparative solutions for utility companies to solve the problem of voltage flicker in distribution systems. The solutions entail provision of shunt reactive compensation. Two solutions will be explored: the shunt capacitor and the Static VAR Compensator (SVC). Both solutions are modeled and simulated using PSCAD.

ADVANCED DEVICES TO REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Snaga je određena umnoškom struje i napona. Jalova snaga mora biti isporučena većini tipova magnetske opreme kao što su motori i transformatori jer bez jalove snage nema prijenosa radne snage. Potreba kompenzacije jalove snage poprima sve važniju ulogu

Importance of voltage reduction and optimal voltage setting during reactive power compensation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Click on the DOI link to access the article (may not be free). After reactive power compensation, voltage-dependent loads, such as constant impedance and constant current loads, consume more power because of the increase in node voltage; therefore ...

Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries
