Coordinated voltage control for improved power system voltage stability by incorporating the reactive power reserve from wind farms

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2023
The absorption and output characteristics of reactive power of the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) greatly influence the voltage stability of PCC (Point of Common Coupling) where the wind farms are integrated into the bulk power grid.

Pliant active and reactive power control for grid-interactive converters under unbalanced voltage dips [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
During voltage dips continuous power delivery from distributed generation systems to the grid is desirable for the purpose of grid support. In order to facilitate the control of inverter-based distributed power generation adapted to the expected change ...

Research on Reactive Power Coordination Control of Urban Rail Transit Power Monitoring System

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] The power supply system of urban rail transit mainly relies on the SVG (static var generator) or reactors in the 110 kV main substation for centralized reactive power compensation. The current control mode does not fully consider the reactive

Comparative Review of Reactive Power Estimation Techniques for Voltage Restoration

open access: yesEnergies
With the focus on the growing concern of voltage instability and its inherent risks connected to blackouts, this study addresses the importance of Volt/VAR control (VVC) in maintaining voltage stability, optimizing power factor, and reducing losses.

Power Quality Improvement Wind Energy System Using Cascaded Multilevel Inverter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, a wind energy conversion system based on a cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter (CHBMLI) topology has been proposed to be used for the grid interface of large split winding alternators (SWAs).

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Control of the Reactive Power Supplied by a Matrix Converter

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2009
In this paper, the control of the reactive power supplied by a matrix converter to a grid is presented. A matrix converter is used to feed an induction generator using a space vector modulation algorithm. An input current observer, implemented using an estimation of the modulation matrix, is used in a nonlinear controller that regulates the reactive ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
