Reactive power planning incorporating system security
Proceedings of 8th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference on Industrial Applications in Power Systems, Computer Science and Telecommunications (MELECON 96), 2002The purpose of reactive power planning is to provide an acceptable voltage profile and to maintain generators' reactive limits. A method is developed using a security performance index and an optimization technique. The proposed combined technique finds an optimal solution for a practical size power system by reducing the set of equations to be solved.
