OZONATION OF THE PURIFIED HYDROLYZED AZO DYEREACTIVE RED 120(CI)
Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A, 2002The combination of chemical and biological water treatment processes is a promising technique to reduce recalcitrant wastewater loads. The key to the efficiency of such a system is a better understanding of the mechanisms involved during the degradation processes. Ozonation has been applied to many fields in water and wastewater treatment.

Electrochemical degradation of Reactive Red 120 using DSA and BDD anodes
Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2010Electrochemical oxidation of an azo dye (Reactive Red 120) was studied in acidic media (1 M HClO4) using DSA type (Ti/IrO2-RuO2) and boron doped diamond (BDD) anodes. Ti/IrO2-RuO2 exhibited low oxidation power with high selectivity to organic interme- diates and low TOC removal (10% at 25 C and 40% at 80 C).

Degradation of Reactive Red 120 using hydrogen peroxide in subcritical water
Desalination, 2011Abstract Reactive azo dyes, such as Reactive Red 120, are commonly used to dye cellulosic fibres. Reactive dyes have a low utilization degree compared to other types of dyestuff, since the functional group also bonds to water, creating hydrolysis. This results in only 60% fixation to fabrics, therefore creating considerable amounts of wastewater.

The decoloration and degradation of aqueous solution of the reactive azo dye viz. Reactive Red-120 (RR-120) was carried out by electron beam irradiation. The change in decoloration percentage, removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total organic carbon (TOC), solution pH and five-day biochemical oxygen demand (BOD(5)) were investigated with ...

Affinity Adsorption of Bromelain on Reactive Red 120 Immobilized Magnetic Composite Particles
Separation Science and Technology, 2011A magnetic dye affinity adsorbent was prepared by coating the magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) with chitosan (CS), which significantly decreased the non-specifically adsorbing protein. Following this, Reactive Red 120 (Red 120), chosen as a dye affinity ligand, was immobilized onto the chitosan-coated magnetic nanoparticles (CS-MNPs) to obtain the ...

Minimization of Wastewater Pollution of the C.I. Reactive Red 120 Synthesis
1997Hydrolysis of reactive triazine dyes and by-products was monitoring in order minimize the wastewater pollution. Thin-layer chromatography with densitometry was performed for their monitoring and quantification and shown as a suitable method for monitoring the multiple stage reactions of reactive dye production which therefore achieved the save on ...

Removal of Azo Dye Reactive Red 120 by Mixed Bacterial Culture
Prehrambeno-tehnološka i biotehnološka revija, 1995Azo dyes belong to the largest group of marketed colourants. Removal of dyes from effluents is the mayor environmental problem because certain aromatic compounds carrying HSO3- groups resist biodegradation or are incompletely degraded. In the present study microbial removal of azo dye Reactive Red 120 from aqueous solution was investigated.
