This study investigated possible causes of differences in reading speed between two alexic patients who read words letter by letter. As both patients appeared to rely on serial left-to-right processing of letters within words, the difference in reading speed did not seem to be related to any differences in the extent to which the patients could ...

Processing speed, naming speed, and reading.
Developmental Psychology, 1994With increasing age, children name familiar objects more rapidly, and these naming times are related to reading ability. The aim of this research was to determine if age-related change in naming time reflects (a) automtic access of familiar names due to greater familiarity with the named objects or (b) global change in speed of processing.

Babel. Revue internationale de la traduction / International Journal of Translation, 2013
This article presents a new tool which has been developed in order to make reading speed calculations, and whose results are expressed by means of the two parameters most used in the field: CPS (characters per second) and WPM (words per minute). Topics such as the suitability of each one of the parameters versus the other, the potential correlation ...

Speed Reading – Schneller Lesen
