Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

AI, insurance, discrimination and unfair differentiation. An overview and research agenda [PDF]

open access: yesLaw, Innovation and Technology 11 Mar 2025
Insurers underwrite risks: they calculate risks and decide on the insurance price. Insurers seem captivated by two trends enabled by Artificial Intelligence (AI). First, insurers could use AI for analysing more and new types of data to assess risks more precisely: data-intensive underwriting.

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

Evaluating the Stability of Numerical Schemes for Fluid Solvers in Game Technology

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Games Technology, 2022
A variety of numerical techniques have been explored to solve the shallow water equations in real-time water simulations for computer graphics applications. However, determining the stability of a numerical algorithm is a complex and involved task when a

New Techniques Based On Odd-Edge Total Colorings In Topological Cryptosystem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
For building up twin-graphic lattices towards topological cryptograph, we define four kinds of new odd-magic-type colorings: odd-edge graceful-difference total coloring, odd-edge edge-difference total coloring, odd-edge edge-magic total coloring, and odd-edge felicitous-difference total coloring in this article.

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.
