The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

On paranormed type fuzzy I -convergent double multiplier sequences

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2013
In this article, we introduce the classes of fuzzy real valued double sequences  and  , where   is a multiplier sequence of non-zero real numbers and   is a double sequence of bounded strictly positive numbers.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

On a problem inspired by Descartes' rule of signs

open access: yesModern Mathematical Methods
We study real univariate polynomials with non-zero coefficients and with all roots real, out of which exactly two positive. The sequence of coefficients of such a polynomial begins with \(m\) positive coefficients followed by \(n\) negative followed by \(

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...
