Hybrid Inertial–Centrifugal Gas–Liquid Separator: CFD‐Driven Optimization Using Coupled Discrete Phase and Wall‐Film Modeling With Response Surface Methodology

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Efficient removal of liquid aerosols from compressed gas streams is essential in chemical and energy processes. Conventional separators relying on a single mechanism (inertial or centrifugal) struggle to capture both fine and coarse droplets simultaneously.

Efficient Modeling of Deterministic Decision Trees for Recognition of Realizable Decision Rules: Bounds on Weighted Depth

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, an efficient algorithm for modeling the operation of a DDT (Deterministic Decision Tree) solving the problem of realizability of DRs (Decision Rules) is proposed and analyzed.

Representation Space Analytical Method for Path Planning of Free-Floating Space Manipulators

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Path planning is necessary for free-floating space manipulators to perform space tasks. However, the coupled motion between manipulator and base directly acts on path planning procedure, which results in current manipulator motion state is dependent on ...

Variations on realizability: realizing the propositional axiom of choice

open access: yes, 1999
1.1 Historical background Early investigators of realizability were interested in metamathematical ques-tions. In keeping with the traditions of the time they concentrated on interpre-tations of one formal system in another.

The ultimate forgery: A semiotic deconstruction of large language models as engines of simulated selfhood

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Information science rests on a compact: its mediating signs maintain a traceable relation to what they describe. Large language models (LLMs) break it architecturally, generating discourse that is statistically plausible yet epistemically ungrounded, while standard metrics (precision, recall, relevance) cannot detect the rupture.

Realized copula [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We introduce the notion of realized copula. Based on assumptions of the marginal distributions of daily stock returns and a copula family, realized copula is defined as the copula structure materialized in realized covariance estimated from within-day high-frequency data.

Configurations and their realization

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1997
A configuration \((v_r,b_k)\) is a finite incidence structure of \(v\) points and \(b\) lines such that each point lies on \(r\) lines, each line contains \(k\) points and, there exists at most one line passing through two points. In the paper under review the possibility of realizing a configuration \((v_r,b_k)\) with rational coordinates (i.e. in the

Neutrino Oscillation in a Minimal Length Spacetime

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate how neutrino oscillations are modified in a non‐commutative spacetime characterized by a minimal length scale, described by the Quesne–Tkachuk algebra. By incorporating the algebra's deformation parameter β$$ \beta $$ into the effective neutrino mass, we derive the two‐flavor oscillation probability in this non‐commutative ...

Evaluation and Transformation of Unrealizable Tasks for Robot Systems in Representation Space

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper proposes a framework for a robot system to actively evaluate its realizability for a specific task based on its representation space. The representation space (R-space) of a robot system could be constructed to describe the distributions of ...

SIM‐CaliRam: A workflow combining simulation‐informed references and biomass‐augmented features for in‐line Raman calibration of Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
SIM‐CaliRam combines simulation‐informed references and biomass‐augmented features for in‐line Raman calibration under sparse labels and biomass‐induced spectral confounding. Run‐wise calibration and validation enable prediction of biomass, glucose, ammonium, and phosphate on an unseen S. cerevisiae fed‐batch fermentation.
