Rebound tonometry with re-sterilised tips versus Goldmann applanation tonometry in children
Archivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología (English Edition), 2020The Goldmann applanation tonometer (TAG) is the gold standard for the measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP). In paediatric patients this measurement is challenging. The rebound tonometer (TRB) is an easy to use instrument. In the National Ophthalmology Unit (UNO) the tips of the TRB are re-sterilised (TRB RE).To evaluate the correlation between TRB

Effect of laser in situ keratomileusis on rebound tonometry and Goldmann applanation tonometry
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2010To determine the influence of refractive surgery on intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements obtained using an iCare rebound tonometer and a Goldmann applanation tonometer.School of Optometry, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China.Intraocular pressure was measured using the rebound tonometer and applanation tonometer before and 1 month ...

We report the results of a comparative study at a single center on 214 eyes of 109 pediatric patients in whom IOP was measured using the Icare rebound tonometer and Goldmann applanation tonometry. Measurements from the two modalities demonstrated a correlation coefficient of 0.83 (P < 0.001), with Icare measuring on average 1.38 mm Hg higher.

Limbal rebound tonometry: clinical comparisons and applications
Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, 2017The accuracy of contact tonometry may be compromised in cases with disorders affecting central corneal bio-mechanical properties. This study examined the reliability of rebound tonometry (RT) on the area of corneo-scleral limbus, instead of the conventional central corneal area, and the correlation of findings with ocular biometric parameters. This is a

[Rebound tonometry with sterilized probes].
Die Ophthalmologie, 2023Intraoperative measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) opens up possibilities to investigate the influence of IOP on the stability of the eyeball during the performance of surgical maneuvers. Few techniques have been described, none of which are commercially available.

[A comparison of rebound tonometry (ICare) with TonoPenXL and Goldmann applanation tonometry].
Der Ophthalmologe : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 2007Goldmann applanation tonometry and dynamic contour tonometry (PASCAL) are two well established slit lamp mounted tonometric methods. Intraocular pressure measurement in bedridden patients and children is often only possible using hand held tonometers (TonoPenXL, Perkins tonometer, Draeger tonometer).

To evaluate the effect of refractive errors and central corneal thickness (CCT) on the measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) by ICare rebound tonometer (RT), and its agreement with measurements by Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT).Two observers measured the IOP by using RT and GAT in four groups of healthy volunteers with emmetropic (n = 78 ...

Rebound, Applanation, and Dynamic Contour Tonometry in Pathologic Corneas
Cornea, 2013To compare the practicability of using an Icare rebound tonometer (RT) versus a Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) or a Pascal dynamic contour tonometer (DCT) for measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with corneal abnormalities and, furthermore, to study the influence of central corneal thickness, corneal diameter, corneal radius, and ...

Icare rebound tonometry in children with known and suspected glaucoma
Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2011Accurate intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement, important in managing pediatric glaucoma, often presents challenges. The Icare rebound tonometer shows promise for screening healthy children and has been reported comparable with Goldmann applanation in adults with glaucoma.

[Rebound tonometry in a clinical setting. Comparison with applanation tonometry].
Archivos de la Sociedad Espanola de Oftalmologia, 2007Rebound tonometry has recently been modified for its use in humans. The purpose of our study was to determine the precision of the ICare(R) rebound tonometer (RBT) as compared with the Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT).Patients were recruited from our Hospital's Glaucoma Unit.
