Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Proximity-Based Adaptive Indoor Positioning Method Using Received Signal Strength Indicator

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In this paper, we propose a proximity-based adaptive positioning algorithm to address the challenge of positioning errors in indoor localization based on RSSI (received signal strength indicator). When positioning by trilateration, if a receiver is close

A Grid-Based Localization Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks Using Connectivity and RSS Rank

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
To improve localization accuracy and reduce system costs, a new range-free localization algorithm for wireless sensor networks using connectivity and received signal strength (RSS) rank is proposed.

Vehicular Node Localization Using Received-Signal-Strength Indicator [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2007
Vehicle-to-vehicle communications via dedicated-short-range-communication (DSRC) devices will enable safety applications such as cooperative collision warning. These devices use the IEEE 802.11p standard to support low-latency vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Indoor Received Signal Strength Indicator Measurements for Device-Free Target Sensing

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
For applications such as home surveillance systems and assisted living for elderly care, sensing capabilities are essential for tasks such as locating, determining the approximate position of a person, or identifying the status of a person (static or ...

PRAPD: A novel received signal strength–based approach for practical rogue access point detection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2018
Rogue access point attack is one of the most important security threats for wireless local networks and has attracted great attention from both academia and industry. Utilizing received signal strength information is an effective solution to detect rogue

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.
