Eigenvalue sensitivity minimisation for robust pole placement by the receptance method [PDF]
The problem of robust pole placement in active structural vibration control by the method of receptance is considered in this paper. Expressions are derived for the eigenvalue sensitivities to parametric perturbations, which are subsequently minimised to

In this paper, a new set of six-variable linear partial differential equations of motion of fluid-conveying pipes with general boundary conditions are derived using the Hamilton principle and these equations are solved by the receptance method.

Pole-zero assignment by the receptance method: multi-input active vibration control [PDF]
The famous receptance method for the active vibration control has been mainly applied for pole placement. In this paper, it is exploited to solve the multi-input antiresonance assignment and then it is extended to handle the simultaneous pole-zero ...

An indirect torsional vibration receptance measurement method for shaft structures [PDF]
© 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. In this paper, an indirect method for measuring torsional vibration of shaft structures is established. In conventional torsional vibration measurement, knowledge of two fundamental quantities is needed: a torque ...

Leading-edge receptivity by adjoint methods
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 2006The properties of adjoint operators and the method of composite expansion are used to study the generation of Tollmien–Schlichting (TS) waves in the leading-edge region of an incompressible, flat-plate boundary layer. Following the classical asymptotic approach, the flow field is divided into an initial receptivity region, where the unsteady motion is ...

The Method of Receptances for Continuous Rods
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2014It is shown that it is possible in general to assign 2n poles of an axially vibrating nonuniform rod by sensing the state at n points along the rod and by using an actuator which applies the control force. Moreover, the assignment of poles may be done without continuous or discrete analytical modeling.

Structural modification and active vibration control by the receptance method: Review and tutorial
The problem of eigenvalue assignment, both generally and in terms of vibration suppression, has a long history, as indeed does the use of measured receptance data in understanding the dynamic behaviour of compound systems made up of a number of component

RIAP: A Method for Effective Receptive Field Rectification
2021Receptive field (RF) plays a vital role in deep convolutional networks. Padding schemes are related to the RF closely. In this paper, we analyze the information attenuation caused by zero-padding during the convolution operations in CNNs theoretically. Moreover, the weight bias accumulated by zero-padding along the forward propagation is also analyzed.
