Calcium-sensing receptor autoantibody-mediated hypoparathyroidism associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy: diagnosis and long-term follow-up

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, 2020
Background Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have produced significant survival benefit across many tumor types. However, immune-related adverse events are common including autoimmune responses against different endocrine organs.

Papillary Thyroid Cancer With Cutaneous Metastasis: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cutaneous metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma is rare, which may present as slowly growing nodules, erythematous papules, or ulcerative nodules. The pathophysiological mechanisms of skin metastasis in thyroid cancer remain unclear.

A RARE HEREDITARY DISEASE: PSEUDOHIPOPARATHERIOSIS TYPE 1a IN THE PRACTICE OF A PEDIATRIC ENDOCRINOLOGIST

open access: yesМать и дитя в Кузбассе, 2022
Pseudohypoparathyroidism (PGP) is a rare hereditary disease characterized by clinical and laboratory signs of hypoparathyroidism against the background of an increased level of parathyroid hormone (PTH) in the blood.

Understanding Low Motivation for Treatment in Primary Hyperparathyroidism: A Qualitative Study of Patients and Providers in the United States

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Untreated PHPT represents a major health service failure driven in part by poor disease literacy and constrained primary care encounters. ABSTRACT Background Two thirds of patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) go untreated, risking progressive osteoporosis, fractures, and nephrolithiasis.

Deletion of the nuclear localization sequences and C-terminus of PTHrP impairs embryonic mammary development but also inhibits PTHrP production.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) can be secreted from cells and interact with its receptor, the Type 1 PTH/PTHrP Receptor (PTHR1) in an autocrine, paracrine or endocrine fashion.

Key Interaction Changes Determine the Activation Process of Human Parathyroid Hormone Type 1 Receptor

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society
The parathyroid hormone type 1 receptor (PTH1R) plays a crucial role in modulating various physiological functions and is considered an effective therapeutic target for osteoporosis. However, a lack of detailed molecular and energetic information about PTH1R limits our comprehensive understanding of its activation process.

Identification of MEF2A, MEF2C, and MEF2D interactomes in basal and Fsk‐stimulated mouse MA‐10 Leydig cells

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Myocyte enhancer factor 2 transcription factors regulate essential transcriptional programs in various cell types. The activity of myocyte enhancer factor 2 factors is modulated through interactions with cofactors, chromatin remodelers, and other regulatory proteins, which are dependent on cell context and physiological state.

Patterns of linkage disequilibrium and haplotype distribution in disease candidate genes

open access: yesBMC Genetics, 2004
Background The adequacy of association studies for complex diseases depends critically on the existence of linkage disequilibrium (LD) between functional alleles and surrounding SNP markers.

Tumor‐Derived Exosomal piR‐hsa‐28212 Promotes Lymphatic Metastasis in Breast Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Breast cancer–derived exosomal piR‐hsa‐28212 promotes lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis by activating VEGFC/VEGFR3 signaling. It stabilizes TBX1 mRNA in lymphatic endothelial cells and METTL3 protein in tumor cells, enhancing VEGFR3 expression and VEGFC secretion.

Mechanisms Underpinning Adaptations in Placental Calcium Transport in Normal Mice and Those With Fetal Growth Restriction

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2018
Fetal delivery of calcium, via the placenta, is crucial for appropriate skeletal mineralization. We have previously demonstrated that maternofetal calcium transport, per gram placenta, is increased in the placental specific insulin-like growth factor 2 ...
