Association Between a Body Shape Index and Epilepsy Among US Adults: Potential Indirect Pathway Through Depressive Symptoms

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Epilepsy is a common and disabling brain disorder. Whether a body shape index (ABSI) is associated with epilepsy, and whether depressive symptoms may partly account for this association, remain unclear. Methods We analyzed 13,066 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2013–2018.

Correlation of the peripheral blood DNA methylation profile and immune‐related adverse events in patients with solid cancer treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
Baseline blood DNA methylation profiles predict early immune‐related adverse events across cancer types. A methylation‐based classifier demonstrated robust discriminatory performance and revealed enrichment of neuronal and developmental regulatory pathways, suggesting a systemic epigenetic predisposition to immune toxicity following immune checkpoint ...

Vector‐based comparison as a novel framework for assessing multi‐endpoint clinical trials: Applications to actual data

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
Multi‐endpoint clinical trials face long‐standing statistical challenges. Vector‐based comparison (VBC) decomposes endpoints into orthogonal components. Applied to five clinical trials, it reduced confidence‐interval widths by about 50%, indicating higher statistical power, without altering the clinical meaning of endpoints.

Antiglycation of Insulin by Selected Six Bioactive Peanut Sprout Stilbenoids and Demonstration of Methylglyoxal‐Mediated Biphasic Insulin Glycation by O‐Phenylenediamine Derivatization

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Graphical abstract demonstrates 6 peanut sprout containing stilbenoids exhibiting varied structure‐activity potency in protection of insulin integrity from glycation mediated by methylglyoxal (MG), glucose and fructose. Meanwhile, MG‐mediated biphasic insulin glycation was evidenced in Tricine SDS‐PAGE analysis and supported by O‐phenylenediamine (OPD)
