The Phospholamban (PLN) R9C mutation reduces SERCA2a binding, increasing calcium recycling and baseline contractility. However, the excess of free PLN promotes pentamer formation, limiting phosphorylation and blunting β‐adrenergic signaling. Under cardiac stress, enhanced functional demands overwhelm proteostasis in PLN R9C cells, leading to misfolded ...

Regulation of bone formation and resorption by Beta Adrenergic system
Background Following initial studies reporting the presence of βeta adrenergic receptors on bone cells, several studies have investigated the role of the Beta adrenergic system in the formation and resorption of bone.

Background/Aims: NF-κB induces transcription of a number of genes, associated with inflammation and apoptosis. In this study, we have investigated the effect of β-adrenergic receptor stimulation on NF-κB and IκBα in HUVECs.

Locus coeruleus to basolateral amygdala noradrenergic projections promote anxiety-like behavior [PDF]
Increased tonic activity of locus coeruleus noradrenergic (LC-NE) neurons induces anxiety-like and aversive behavior. While some information is known about the afferent circuitry that endogenously drives this neural activity and behavior, the downstream ...

Hungry for Knowledge: Octopamine Signaling Regulates Hunger‐Enhanced Olfactory Learning
Researchers demonstrate that hunger state facilitates both aversive and appetitive olfactory learning. Two distinct octopamine signaling pathways are involved in aversive or appetitive memory formation in the hunger state. And, hunger state also facilitates the formation of both types of memories via an evolutionarily conserved norepinephrine (the ...

The G protein-coupled receptor heterodimer network (GPCR-HetNet) and its hub components [PDF]
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) oligomerization has emerged as a vital characteristic of receptor structure. Substantial experimental evidence supports the existence of GPCR-GPCR interactions in a coordinated and cooperative manner.

This study develops a biomimetic nanoplatform using erythrocyte membrane‐camouflaged, CD144 antibody‐functionalized nanoparticles to deliver 2‐deoxy‐D‐ribose (2dDR). This system promotes heart valve endothelialization by enhancing endothelial cell migration and proliferation via EGFR activation, while improving hemocompatibility.

Nociceptive Effects of Locally Treated Metoprolol
Purpose: Beta (beta-)-adrenergic receptor antagonists, such as metoprolol, are often used to avoid circulatory complications during anesthesia for their antihypertensive and anti-tachycardia effects in patients with cardiovascular diseases.

Anti-adrenergic effects of endothelin on human atrial action potentials are potentially anti-arrhythmic [PDF]
Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is elevated in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure. We investigated effects of ET-1 on human atrial cellular electrophysiological measurements expected to influence the genesis and maintenance of AF.

[The beta-adrenergic receptor].
The Authors review the constitution and mechanism of action of the beta adrenergic receptor. It is part of a large family which includes visual pigments, muscarinic, serotonergic, olfactive and substance K receptors. Catecholamines given an electron to the receptor.
