Regulation of Neuromodulator Receptor Efficacy - Implications for Whole-Neuron and Synaptic Plasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Membrane receptors for neuromodulators (NM) are highly regulated in their distribution and efficacy - a phenomenon which influences the individual cell's response to central signals of NM release.

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.

Dopamine, the dopamine D2 receptor and pituitary tumours [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, 1991
Dopamine plays an important role in the hypothalamic-pituitary axis where its major effects are to inhibit pituitary hormone secretion and cell division. Chronic dopamine deficiency has been postulated as a cause of pituitary tumour formation and several lines of evidence exist to suggest that a functional deficiency may develop as a result of ...

Dopamine-driven increase in IL-1β in myeloid cells is mediated by differential dopamine receptor expression and exacerbated by HIV

open access: yesJournal of Neuroinflammation
The catecholamine neurotransmitter dopamine is classically known for regulation of central nervous system (CNS) functions such as reward, movement, and cognition. Increasing evidence also indicates that dopamine regulates critical functions in peripheral

Tetrahydrocannabinol and dopamine D1 receptor

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2023
Dopamine is a hormone that is released by the adrenal gland and influences motor control and motivation. Dopamine is known to have 5 receptors which are D1, D2, D3, D4 and D5, which are further categorized into 2 families: D1 family and D2 family. The D1 family is known to play a role in motivation and motor control whereas the D2 family is known to ...
