GHSR‐Foxo1 Signaling in Macrophages Promotes Liver Fibrosis via Inflammatory Response and Hepatic Stellate Cell Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Macrophage GHSR‐Foxo1 axis regulates CCl4‐induced liver fibrosis by promoting inflammation and TGF‐β1‐mediated HSC activation. GHSR activates PKA‐dependent phosphorylation of Foxo1 at serine 273, promoting macrophage pro‐inflammatory polarization to enhance the production of pro‐inflammatory cytokines that damage hepatocytes, thereby inducing liver ...

Neutrophil–Endothelium Interaction Mediated by S100A9 Promotes Pulmonary Vascular Remodeling During Pulmonary Hypertension

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the critical mechanisms underlying pulmonary hypertension progression, with a focus on the novel role of neutrophil‐derived S100A9 in endothelial dysfunction‐mediated pulmonary vascular remodeling. By integrating human lung samples, multi‐omics analyses, animal models, and mechanistic in vitro studies, it is revealed that how ...

Pyroptosis‐Inducing Platinum(IV) Prodrugs via GSDME Pathway for Chemoimmunotherapy and Metastasis Inhibition in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Three PtIV prodrugs MRP, DRP, and HRP are designed to induce pyroptosis in low GSDME‐expressing tumor cells via the Caspase‐3/GSDME pathway. By relaxing chromatin and reactivating GSDME, HRP can effectively induce pyroptosis, enhance pro‐inflammatory cytokine production, and exhibit potent antitumor effects.

Long‐term prognosis is associated with residual disease after neoadjuvant systemic therapy but not with initial nodal status

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
This long‐term follow‐up study determined survival rates in a Swedish national cohort of 417 patients with breast cancer who all had neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NAST). Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) was performed before NAST in clinically node‐negative and after NAST in clinically node‐positive patients.

p53, estrogen and progesterone receptors in diagnostic curettage for endometrial adenocarcinoma and their correlation with morphological data and disease stage at hysterectomy

open access: yesSão Paulo Medical Journal
CONTEXT: Diagnostic staging is an important prognostic factor for endometrial adenocarcinoma. Apart from the histological type and histological grade, some markers seem to be associated with the stage and biological behavior of the disease.

Adipose Tissue Macrophages as Initiators of Exacerbated Periodontitis in Estrogen‐Deficient Environments via the Amplifier Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic systemic inflammation, worsened by estrogen deficiency, underlies and exacerbates periodontitis. Proinflammatory macrophages within visceral adipose tissue are hyperactivated due to hyper‐DNA methylation, releasing small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) similar to those of their parent cells.

Exposure to polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) suppresses the release of pro-inflammatory products by alveolar macrophages in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Endocrine disrupting chemicals have adverse effects on immune function that may result in respiratory conditions. Inhalation of dust is a major route of exposure to PBDEs; however, the impact of PBDEs on the immune response is unclear.

LncRNA Foxo6os as a Novel “ Scaffold” Mediates MYBPC3 in Combating Pathological Cardiac Hypertrophy and Heart Failure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic overview showing that forkhead box O6, opposite strand (Foxo6os) acts as a “scaffold”, directly binding myosin‐binding protein‐C (MYBPC3) and recruiting protein kinase C (PKC‐α) to mediate site‐specific phosphorylation of MYBPC3. This post‐translational modification supports cardiac contraction by regulating L‐type Ca2+ channels, especially ...

Interfacial Stress Regulates Plasticity and Drug Resistance at the Breast Cancer‐Host Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Drop‐on‐demand printing is used to replicate the spatial compartmentalization of the breast cancer‐host interface. Hydrogel confinement affects phenotypic changes in cells at the spheroid interface that drives a two‐fold increase in chemotherapeutic resistance compared to control unconfined spheroids.

Bioactive siRNA‐Based Liposomes Promoted Tendon‐Bone Healing in Osteoporotic Mice by Recovering the Stemness of CD248+ TSPCs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, it is found that osteoporosis leads to disturbances in the Extracellular Matrix (ECM)of tendons and thus causes a decrease in TSPC stemness, resulting in a rotator cuff that is easily damaged and prone to retearing after repair. Targeted intervention with si‐CD248‐loaded liposomes can restore TSPC stemness, promote tendon‐bone healing ...
