Neuropeptide Y induced inhibition of noradrenaline release in rat hypothalamus

open access: yes, 1999
We aimed at characterizing the receptor subtype and the signaling pathway involved in the inhibitory effect of neuropeptide Y on the release of endogenous noradrenaline from rat hypothalamus.

The Efficacy of Pharmacotherapy Intervention on Anthropometric Outcomes in Survivors of Childhood Brain Tumors: An Updated Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Many survivors of childhood brain tumors face long‐term adverse health outcomes like obesity. Uncertainties surround the effect of interventions to manage obesity‐related outcomes in survivors of childhood brain tumors. The goal of this updated systematic review and meta‐analysis was to provide the best estimate of the treatment ...

Innovations in Obesity Treatment: Beyond Adipose Tissue Dysfunction

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
Obesity drives chronic inflammation, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and cancer development through adipocyte dysfunction. Addressing this multisystemic disorder requires integrated strategies beyond diet and exercise, such as thermogenesis activation via menthol or capsinoids and appetite control through GLP‐1/GIP agonists and neuromodulation to ...

Porphyromonas gingivalis Outer Membrane Vesicles‐Associated DNA Triggers Inflammation by Inducing IL‐6 in Astrocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oral Microbiology, EarlyView.
Pg releases OMVs which contain Pg genomic DNA. The Pg OMVs‐associated DNA is incorporated into astrocytes via endocytosis and increases IL‐6 mRNA expression via TLR9. These effects of Pg OMVs may induce neuroinflammation, which could contribute to the onset and progression of AD in periodontal disease.

Regional Nerve Blocks and OnabotulinumtoxinA in the Management of Trigeminal Trophic Syndrome: A Case Report of a Novel Multimodal Approach

open access: yesOral Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Trigeminal trophic syndrome (TTS) is a rare condition caused by trigeminal nerve injury, classically characterized by anaesthesia, paresthesia and facial ulceration. We present two cases of TTS successfully managed with regional nerve blocks and onabotulinumtoxinA. Methods Two patients—a 54‐year‐old woman and a 65‐year‐old man—with a

Depth of DNA photodamage in human corneas exposed to 222 nm or 254 nm UV

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Representative confocal 3D image of a section of a human cornea showing nuclei in blue (Hoechst 33342) and green, which was assigned to cells exhibiting Alexa555 conjugated to anti‐CPD antibody. The depth of photodamage was measured in Z‐stacks of the human corneal epithelium after exposure of the anterior surface to 50 or 100 mJ/cm2 at 222 or 254 nm ...
