ElixirSeeker: A Machine Learning Framework Utilizing Fusion Molecular Fingerprints for the Discovery of Lifespan‐Extending Compounds

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
ElixirSeeker is a machine learning architecture based on a phenotype‐driven drug discovery approach to screen lifespan‐extending compounds. By integrating molecular fingerprints, ElixirSeeker could maximize feature capture of lifespan‐extending compounds.

Chronic Cellular NAD Depletion Activates a Viral Infection‐Like Interferon Response Through Mitochondrial DNA Leakage

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Chronic NAD depletion in fibroblasts lowers NAD levels, increases mitochondrial mass, and triggers an interferon‐dependent inflammatory response via mtDNA leakage through VDAC1, activating the cGAS‐STING pathway. This links NAD deficiency to metabolic and inflammatory processes, with implications for diseases associated with NAD decline.

CD38‐Targeting Peptide Vaccine Ameliorates Aging‐Associated Phenotypes in Mice

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Shangcheng Yu et al. revealed that CD38‐targeting peptide vaccine ameliorated aging‐associated physical and cognitive phenotypes in mice. CD38‐vaccine selectively depletes CD38+ myeloid cells, improves glucose tolerance, and enhances oxygen consumption.

An ecological momentary assessment study of predictors for alcohol outcomes in transgender and gender diverse youth

open access: yesAlcohol, Clinical and Experimental Research, EarlyView.
In this study, we demonstrate that on days or moments when transgender and gender diverse (TGD) youth experience increased gender minority stressors, they also report increased alcohol use, alcohol craving, and psychological distress, as well as coping motives.

Use of Antidepressants Decreased After Initiation of ADHD Treatment in Adults—A Finnish Nationwide Register Study Describing Use of ADHD and Non‐ADHD Medication in People With and Without ADHD

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction ADHD is often associated with comorbid psychiatric conditions. Differential diagnosis between other conditions and ADHD is not always clear, and patients are sometimes initially treated for another disorder instead. ADHD diagnosis and appropriate ADHD treatment potentially reduce the need for medication of the other disorder ...
