Deficiency of Phospholipase A2 Receptor Exacerbates Autoimmune Myocarditis in Mice

Inflammation, 2020
Secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of various inflammatory diseases through production of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. PLA2 receptor 1 (PLA2R) acts as a clearance receptor for sPLA2s. This study examined whether PLA2R plays a role in the pathogenesis of experimental autoimmune myocarditis using PLA2R-deficient

Modulation of the AMPA receptor by phospholipase A2: Effect of the antidepressant trimipramine

Psychiatry Research, 1994
Previous results have shown that chronic administration of the antidepressant trimipramine prevents the formation of long-term potentiation in the rat hippocampus. In the present study, we compared the effects of chronic administration of trimipramine on the binding properties of hippocampal glutamate receptors and on the modulation of the DL-alpha ...

Phospholipase A2 Receptor Antibody–Positive Pregnancy: A Case Report

American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 2020
Renal course and clinical outcomes in pregnant women with primary membranous nephropathy are not completely understood. In addition, the use of autoantibodies to M-type phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) as a serologic marker throughout pregnancy and postpartum in the mother and baby is not yet fully elucidated.

[A family of receptors for secretory phospholipases A2].

Comptes rendus des seances de la Societe de biologie et de ses filiales, 1997
Venom phospholipases A2 (vPLA2's) display a large spectrum of toxic effects including neurotoxicity, myotoxicity, hypotensive, anticoagulant and proinflammatory effects. We have shown that these different types of effects are apparently linked to the existence of a diversity of very high affinity receptors (Kd values as low as 1.5 pM) for these toxic ...

Modification of the tetrodotoxin receptor in Electrophorus electricus by phospholipase A2

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1981
The effects of phospholipase A2 treatment on the tetrodotoxin receptors in Electrophorus electricus was studied. (1) The binding of [3H]tetrodotoxin to electroplaque membranes was substantially reduced by treatment of the membranes with low concentrations of phospholipase A2 from a number of sources, including bee venom, Vipera russelli and Crotalus ...

Glutaraldehyde pretreatment blocks phospholipase A2 modulation of adrenergic receptors

Life Sciences, 1985
Treatment of rat cerebral cortical membranes with phospholipase A2 affects, in a parallel fashion, beta-, alpha 1- and alpha 2-adrenergic receptor binding, but not the affinity of these receptors for their respective ligands. Pretreatment of membranes with 0.1 percent glutaraldehyde blocks the effects of phospholipase A2 on adrenergic receptor binding.

Phospholipase A2 receptor staining in pediatric idiopathic membranous glomerulopathy

Pediatric Nephrology, 2013
Membranous glomerulopathy, though typically a disease of adults, does occur in children. Antiphospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) autoantibodies have recently been implicated as a causative agent in most cases of adult primary (idiopathic) membranous glomerulopathy.

Anti-Phospholipase A2 Receptor Antibody Trajectories for Predicting Prognosis in Patients with Phospholipase A2 Receptor-Associated Membranous Nephropathy

American Journal of Nephrology
Introduction: Phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) is the major autoantigen in membranous nephropathy (MN); however, the trajectories of anti-PLA2R antibodies and their prognostic implications remain unclear. Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, we analyzed 1,528 patients with PLA2R-associated MN (2011–2022), each with at least three serial ...

Neuronal receptors for phospholipases A2 and β-neurotoxicity

Biochimie, 2000
Some phospholipases A(2) interrupt neuromuscular communication by blocking the release of neurotransmitter into the synaptic cleft. Despite numerous studies, the molecular mechanism of their action is still largely obscure. In this review the best-characterized receptors for beta-neurotoxins are presented.

[Diagnostic value of renal phospholipase A2 receptor and serum anti-phospholipase A2 receptor antibody in membranous nephropathy].

Zhong nan da xue xue bao. Yi xue ban = Journal of Central South University. Medical sciences, 2017
To examine the expression of phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) in renal tissues and the level of anti-PLA2R antibody in serum in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) and secondary membranous nephropathy (SMN), and to evaluate their diagnostic value in IMN.
