Efficacy and Safety of Subcutaneous Efgartigimod PH20 in Adults With Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia (ADVANCE SC): A Multicenter, Randomized, Double‐Blinded, Placebo‐Controlled, Phase 3 Trial

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 101, Issue 7, Page 1494-1506, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Primary autoimmune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is characterized by thrombocytopenia, bleeding, and reduced health‐related quality of life. In the Phase 3 ADVANCE IV study, intravenous efgartigimod induced significant platelet count responses versus placebo in patients with chronic ITP. ADVANCE SC, a Phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double‐blinded,

Case Report: Dangerous liaisons between splenectomy and eltrombopag-induced chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension in patients with immune thrombocytopenia: report of two cases and review of the literature

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
IntroductionPrimary immune thrombocytopenia is an autoimmune bleeding disorder characterized by variable immune-mediated platelet destruction. These patients have reported thrombotic complications, both venous and arterial, in addition to bleeding ...

D‐Allulose as a Low‐Calorie Sweetener: A 30‐Day Randomized, Double‐Blind Study on Gastrointestinal Tolerance and Systemic Safety to Support Its Application in Healthy Diets

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
This graphical abstract presents the key design and findings of a 30‐day trial evaluating the safety of fermented D‐allulose in healthy Chinese adults. Fifty eligible adults were randomized to receive either low‐dose (24 g/day, n = 24) or high‐dose (36 g/day, n = 26) D‐allulose for 30 days.

Discovery of an unconventional lamprey lymphocyte lineage highlights divergent features in vertebrate adaptive immune system evolution

open access: yesNature Communications
Lymphocyte receptors independently evolved in both jawed and jawless vertebrates with similar adaptive immune responses. However, the diversity of functional subtypes and molecular architecture in jawless vertebrate lymphocytes, comparable to jawed ...

Real‐World Safety and Efficacy of Avatrombopag in Adults with Immune Thrombocytopenia: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, Volume 117, Issue 1, Page 174-185, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective This systematic review and meta‐analysis aimed to evaluate the risk of thromboembolic events and assess the overall safety and effectiveness of avatrombopag in adult patients with immune thrombocytopenia using real‐world evidence. Methods A systematic search was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines.

Beyond Hemostasis: Platelet Biomarkers and Vascular‐Immune Crosstalk in Dengue

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 12, 30 June 2026.
Several biomarkers are associated with platelet activation during dengue virus (DENV) infection. These include serum markers (AST, ALT, ferritin), platelet surface or secreted molecules (P‐selectin, PF4, RANTES, VEGF‐A, CD40L, TREM‐1, TLT‐1), immune and endothelial markers (TREM‐1, Ang‐1, Ang‐2), and viral components such as DENV EIII.

Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura as a Herald of Underlying X-Linked Immunodeficiency with Magnesium Defect, Epstein-Barr Virus Infection, and Neoplasia (XMEN) Disease in a Pediatric Patient

open access: yesJournal of Human Immunity
BackgroundLoss-of-function variants in magnesium transporter 1 (MAGT1) cause X-linked Immunodeficiency with Magnesium defect, Epstein-Barr virus infection, and Neoplasia (XMEN) disease through impaired glycosylation.

Cryo-EM structure of the extracellular domain of murine Thrombopoietin Receptor in complex with Thrombopoietin

open access: yesNature Communications
AbstractThrombopoietin (Tpo) is the primary regulator of megakaryocyte and platelet numbers and is required for haematopoetic stem cell maintenance. Tpo functions by binding its receptor (TpoR, a homodimeric Class I cytokine receptor) and initiating cell proliferation or differentiation.

Adenovirus vectors can infect mouse megakaryocytes – implications for vaccine-induced thrombosis/thrombocytopenia

open access: yesResearch and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis
Background: Adenoviruses, adenoviral vector vaccines, and gene delivery systems have been implicated in thrombosis/thrombocytopenia syndrome. The underlying cause remains unknown.
