OBJECTIVES: Vasopressin and corticosteroids are both commonly used adjunctive therapies in septic shock. Retrospective analyses have suggested that there may be an interaction between these drugs, with higher circulating vasopressin levels and improved ...

Effects of arginine vasopressin on migration and respiratory burst activity in human leukocytes
Arginine vasopressin can bind to high-affinity vasopressin V1a receptors in human leukocytes. This study aims to investigate the effects of arginine vasopressin on migration and chemotaxis of neutrophils and oxygen free radical release by human ...

Vasopressin and oxytocin receptors in GtoPdb v.2023.1
Vasopressin (AVP) and oxytocin (OT) receptors (nomenclature as recommended by NC-IUPHAR [94]) are activated by the endogenous cyclic nonapeptides vasopressin and oxytocin.

Comparison of natural and artificial vasopressin deficiency: why the latter is lethal?
The transgenic mouse technology is widespread, however, untill now 22.0 % of tested null mutations was found to be lethal. The complete lack of vasopressin (AVP) resulted also in preweaning lethality.

Oxytocin modulates human chemosensory decoding of sex in a dose-dependent manner
There has been accumulating evidence of human social chemo-signaling, but the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Considering the evolutionarily conserved roles of oxytocin and vasopressin in reproductive and social behaviors, we examined ...

An adhesive hydrogel depot with polyphenol‐armored nanogenes is developed for treating aged osteoarthritis. This system maintains miR‐140 bioactivity, prolongs its intra‐articular retention, and enhances transfection into chondrocytes, leading to the downregulation of senescence‐associated pathways.

Renal and Central Vasopressin Receptors: Immunocytochemical Localization
Employing an anti-vasopressin monoclonal antibody for immunization, anti-idiotypic monoclonal antibodies were obtained which induced plasminogen activator production in the renal epithelial cell line LLC-PK1.

(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...

Renal tubular vasopressin receptors downregulated by dehydration
Receptors for arginine vasopressin (AVP) were characterized in tubular epithelial basolateral membranes (BL membranes) prepared from the kidneys of male Sprague-Dawley rats. Association of [3H]AVP was rapid, reversible, and specific.
