The cooperative regulation of miR‐221 by APE1 and AUF1 impacts p27Kip1 defining a miR signature relevant for cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Yiqi Huoxue recipe ameliorates diabetic nephropathy by mediating VAPB–PTPIP51 complex to activate autophagy and regulate MAM contact

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
BackgroundDiabetic nephropathy (DN), a major complication of diabetes mellitus (DM), poses a high mortality and a global health burden. Mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes (MAMs) and mediated autophagy are regarded as the crucial ...

FROM A MONOMODAL RECIPE TO A MULTIMODAL OFFER. A TEXTOLOGICAL AND MEDIOLINGUISTIC APPROACH

open access: yesHumanities and Social Sciences, 2018
Not so long ago recipes were included in 'obvious' text types functioning „unproblematically in the sphere of everyday life”[1], because their relatively uncomplicated structure did not cause any difficulties with recognition and qualification, or with ...

Simulating galactic outflows with kinetic supernova feedback

open access: yes, 2008
Feedback from star formation is thought to play a key role in the formation and evolution of galaxies, but its implementation in cosmological simulations is currently hampered by a lack of numerical resolution.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Rationale for the development of an innovative product with the addition of hydrobionts within the framework of the ESG challenges

open access: yesНовые технологии
At present food industry must meet the global challenges that we face. The first one is hunger; the population continues to grow, it is necessary to meet nutritional needs by increasing funding for the development of agricultural areas and introducing ...

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Transverse momentum correlations of quarks in recursive jet models

open access: yes, 2016
In the symmetric string fragmentation recipe adopted by PYTHIA for jet simulations, the transverse momenta of successive quarks are uncorrelated. This is a simplification but has no theoretical reason.

Fibrinogen Changes Before and After Intravenous Thrombolysis as Predictors of Cerebral Injury and Clinical Outcomes in Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Multicenter Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma fibrinogen is essential in thrombosis and fibrinolysis, yet its dynamic changes pre‐ and post‐intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) for predicting brain injury severity and prognosis in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients remain unclear.
