Deep learning framework DNN with conditional WGAN for protein solubility prediction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Protein solubility plays a critical role in improving production yield of recombinant proteins in biocatalyst and pharmaceutical field. To some extent, protein solubility can represent the function and activity of biocatalysts which are mainly composed of recombinant proteins. Highly soluble proteins are more effective in biocatalytic processes and can

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Stabilizing additives added during cell lysis aid in the solubilization of recombinant proteins. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Insoluble recombinant proteins are a major issue for both structural genomics and enzymology research. Greater than 30% of recombinant proteins expressed in Escherichia coli (E. coli) appear to be insoluble.

In vitro starch binding experiments: Study of the proteins related to grain hardness of wheat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Two friabilin components, puroindoline a and GSP-1 were expressed in Escherichia coli. Starch binding properties of the recombinant polypeptides and of friabilin extracted from wheat flour were compared in vitro. The produced proteins as well as native

Drf1-dependent Kinase Interacts with Claspin through a Conserved Protein Motif [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The Dbf4/Drf1-dependent kinase (DDK) is required for the initiation of DNA replication in eukaryotes. Another protein, Claspin, mediates the activation of a cellular checkpoint response to stalled replication forks and is also a regulator of replication.

Aberrant expression of nuclear prothymosin α contributes to epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

A monoclonal antibody collection for C. difficile typing ?

open access: yesGut Pathogens
Clostridioides difficile is the leading cause of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and pseudomembranous colitis in adults. Various C. difficile strains circulate currently, associated with different outcomes and antibiotic resistance profiles. However, most

MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES AND RECOMBINANT PROTEINS OF FILOVIRUSES: IMMUNOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES AND EVALUATION OF THEIR EFFICIENCY FOR IMMUNE DIAGNOSTICS OF MARBURG AND EBOLA VIRUSES

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2014
A panel of monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against VP35, VP40 and NP viral proteins of Marburg and Ebola viruses, as well as recombinant VP35, VP40 and NP proteins were generated and tested for their capacity to specific immune reactions.
