Structural Protein-based Flexible Whispering Gallery Mode Resonators [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Nature provides a set of solutions for photonic structures that are finely tuned, organically diverse and optically efficient. Exquisite knowledge of structure-property relationships in proteins aids in the design of materials with desired properties for building devices with novel functionalities, which are difficult to achieve or previously ...

The DNA Binding Properties of the Parsley bZIP Transcription Factor CPRF4a Are Regulated by Light [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The common plant regulatory factors (CPRFs) from parsley are transcription factors with a basic leucine zipper motif that bind to cis-regulatory elements frequently found in promoters of light-regulated genes.

Delivery of mixed-lineage kinase domain-like protein by vapor nanobubble photoporation induces necroptotic-like cell death in tumor cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Modern molecular medicine demands techniques to efficiently deliver molecules directly into mammalian cells. As proteins are the final mediators of most cellular pathways, efficient intracellular protein delivery techniques are highly desired.

Knockout of the mitoribosome rescue factors Ict1 or Mtrfr is viable in zebrafish but not mice: compensatory mechanisms underlying each factor's loss

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mitochondria contain two mitoribosome rescue factors, ICT1 and MTRFR (C12orf65). ICT1 also functions as a mitoribosomal protein in mice and humans, and its loss is lethal. Although Mtrfr knockout mice could not be generated, knockout zebrafish lines for ict1 and mtrfr were established.

TuMV as an efficient transient vector for expressing heterologous proteins in Nicotiana tabacum and N. benthamiana

open access: yesAdvances in Horticultural Science, 2019
Nowadays the production of recombinant proteins such as drugs and commercial protein compounds in plants is called molecular farming. It has some benefits such as fast and large quantity production of recombinant proteins with low cost. In this research,

ADAPT NXT: Fixed Cycles or Every‐Other‐Week IV Efgartigimod in Generalized Myasthenia Gravis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This phase 3b, open‐label, randomized ADAPT NXT study investigated the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of efgartigimod administered in either a fixed cycles dosing regimen (3 cycles of 4 once‐weekly infusions, with 4 weeks between cycles) or a cycle followed by every‐other‐week (Q2W) dosing.

Clinical development of therapeutic recombinant proteins

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2003
Only a small subset of the therapeutics that enter clinical studies will prove to be safe and effective in humans and gain approval for marketing.

The use of chitin binding proteins for glycoprotein analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The focus of the pharmaceutical industry has dramatically shifted in the past number of years. Traditional drugs were synthesised using chemical reactions have been replaced by recombinant glycoprotein molecules.

Recombinant protein polymers in biomaterials

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience, 2013
Naturally occurring protein-based materials have been found that function as critical components in biomechanical response, fibers and adhesives. A relatively small but growing number of recombinant protein-based materials that mimic the desired features of their natural sources, such as collagens, elastins and silks, are considered as an alternative ...
