A reconfigurable computing architecture for microsensors

Proceedings 2000 IEEE Symposium on Field-Programmable Custom Computing Machines (Cat. No.PR00871), 2002
Microsensor systems are described that support reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition (RSTA) operations. Since communication bandwidth on a microsensor is limited by the power constraints imposed by desired sensor lifespan, the amount of data that can be transmitted is minimal.

ReCompAc: Reconfigurable compute accelerator

2013 International Conference on Reconfigurable Computing and FPGAs (ReConFig), 2013
This paper presents a promising technique for accelerating frequently executed (hot) code regions. Unlike most accelerators which utilize dedicated hardware structures, our architecture exploits the available execution resources of a chip multiprocessor (CMP), while dynamically specializing into a reconfigurable compute accelerator.

A reconfigurable accelerator for quantum computations

2008 International Conference on Field Programmable Logic and Applications, 2008
This paper presents a new architecture to accelerate quantum computations, using reconfigurable computing structures. It was designed post place and route, validated with standard benchmarks, and its performance has been evaluated vs. a high end computer running the same benchmarks with highly optimized code.

Visibility Computation on Reconfigurable Meshes

Graphical Models and Image Processing, 1997
Visibility problems are investigated using reconfigurable meshes. A number of algorithms are proposed on the architecture for visibility computation in two and three dimensions. We show that visibility of a total ofndisjoint edges in the plane can be computed inO(1) time on annĂ—nmesh. The result is optimal in the word model of VLSI.

Reconfigurable platforms for ubiquitous computing

Proceedings of the 1st conference on Computing frontiers, 2004
Ubiquitous computing requires flexibilty. Melting distributed electronic devices into everyday's life implies the need to adapt to evolving standards and dynamic environments. Furthermore, to gain user acceptance, such devices should be able to adapt to different usage patterns and user profiles.

Functional programming for reconfigurable computing

18th International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium, 2004. Proceedings., 2004
Summary form only given. Reconfigurable computing requires organizing computation with mixtures of processors and discrete logic thus presenting a difficult problem of hardware/software integration. An execution model and adaptation of functional programming is proposed which removes the distinction between hardware and software while offering the ...

A survey of reconfigurable computing architectures

1998
In this paper, a survey of reconfigurable computing is presented. There have been other surveys in this field, but none as exhaustive as this one tries to be. The main goal of this paper is to consider a large variety of different approaches to the field of reconfigurable computing, and to make a thorough classification. This classification is aimed at

Reconfigurable computing for imaging systems

2014 4th International Conference on Image Processing Theory, Tools and Applications (IPTA), 2014
This talk will address different software and hardware issues related to the design and implementation of imaging systems using reconfigurable computing. A range of algorithms, including discrete wavelet transform (DWT), Ridgelet and Curvelet transforms will be presented for imaging applications such as medical image denoising, segmentation and ...
