Ensuring Area Coverage and Safety of a Reconfigurable Staircase Cleaning Robot

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Multistorey buildings are rapidly constructing with the current world development. Cleaning of these buildings is a major concern due to several issues such as scarcity of labor. Cleaning robots are developed to cope with these issues.

A reconfiguration strategy for Reconfigurable Cable-Driven Parallel Robots [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), 2015
This paper deals with Reconfigurable Cable-Driven Parallel Robots (RCDPRs). A RCDPR is able to change the locations of its cable exit points, the latter being defined as the connection points between the cables and the robot base frame. Given a RCDPR, a set of possible reconfigurations, a desired platform path and a description of the robot environment,

A characterization of the reconfiguration space of self-reconfiguring robotic systems [PDF]

open access: yesRobotica, 2011
SUMMARYMotion planning for self-reconfiguring robots can be made efficient by exploiting potential reductions to suitably large subspaces. However, there are no general techniques for identifying suitable restrictions that have a positive effect on planning efficiency.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Modelling and Control of a Reconfigurable Robot for Achieving Reconfiguration and Locomotion with Different Shapes

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Area coverage is a crucial factor for a robot intended for applications such as floor cleaning, disinfection, and inspection. Robots with fixed shapes could not realize an adequate level of area coverage performance.

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.
