Microstrip-fed rectangular dielectric resonator antenna

2003 High Frequency Postgraduate Student Colloquium (Cat. No.03TH8707), 2004
The wireless LAN (WLAN) revolution is about to sweep the globe. WLAN access points are being set up all over the world. The need to design an antenna with greater efficiency and wider bandwidth is essential for high-speed wireless data transfer. This paper describes the numerical study of microstrip-coupled rectangular DRA (RDRA) using a commercial E.M.

Wideband rectangular dielectric resonator elements reflectarray

The 2nd Middle East Conference on Antennas and Propagation, 2012
In this paper, two identical rectangular DRAs are used as a unit cell in the reflectarray structure. The proposed reflectarray has broadband characteristics covering the X-band and Ku-band. Full-wave analysis using finite integral technique (FIT), finite element method (FEM) and transmission line method (TLM) are used.

Frequency tunable rectangular dielectric resonator antenna

2009 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2009
A rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with frequency tuning capability has been developed. By introducing a metallic side wall with adjustable shorting tabs, the resonant frequency of a prototype DRA was tuned between 3.2 and 5.8 GHz. This configuration is amenable to dynamic tuning through use of PIN or varactor diodes.

3.5 GHz rectangular dielectric resonator antenna

2008 IEEE International RF and Microwave Conference, 2008
In this paper, dielectric resonator antenna operated at 3.5 GHz was design and simulated using CST Microwave Studio and subsequently fabricated. Direct microstrip line of 50 Omega was used as the feeder. In this design, rectangular shape was used as the dielectric resonator as it offers more option to control the resonant frequency.

Differentially Fed Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna

2008 Global Symposium on Millimeter Waves, 2008
A differentially fed rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is studied using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The fundamental TEm mode of the rectangular DRA is excited at 2.4 GHz, with a 10-dB differential impedance bandwidth (|Sdd11| < -10 dB) of ~ 10.4%.

Dual-Polarized Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna

1997
A theoretical analysis of a three-layer-microstrip / offset-slot coupled rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented, and feasibility of using it to design a dual-polarized antenna is investigated. A combined method based on the modal expansion method and the spectral domain approach is developed.

Wideband perforated rectangular dielectric resonator antenna reflectarray

2011 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSURSI), 2011
A wideband perforated rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA) reflectarray is presented. The array of RDRA are formed from one piece of material. Air-filled holes are drilled into the material around the RDRA. This technique of fabricating RDRA reflectarray using perforations eliminates the need to position and bond individual elements in the ...

Dielectric post resonances in a rectangular waveguide

IEE Proceedings H Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1990
Dielectric post resonances are investigated using a combination of the finite and boundary element methods (CFBEM). A substructure method is adopted in the finite-element method (FEM), so the dimension of the matrix equation to be solved can be reduced.

Rectangular waveguide excitation of dielectric resonator antenna

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2003
In this communication, the waveguide-fed dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is proposed and investigated. The waveguide is terminated by a baffle ground plane in which a coupling slot is cut, and the DRA resides above the coupling slot. To enhance the coupling, a second DR is placed on the other side of the slot inside the waveguide.

A Rectangular Dielectric Resonator Band Stop Filter

2006 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2006
A transmission mode band reject filter using TEXY/ mode of a rectangular dielectric resonator (DR) is discussed. The band reject filter characteristics of the DR operating in the TEXY/ mode, coupled to a microstrip line enclosed within a cylindrical cavity is studied.
