Wakefields due to surface waves in a beam pipe with a periodic rough surface
The problem of the wakefields generated by an ultrarelativistic particle traveling in a long beam tube with a periodic rough surface has been revisited by means of a standard theory based on the hybrid modes excited in a periodically corrugated ...

A Stretchable Electromagnetic Absorber Fabricated Using Screen Printing Technology
A stretchable electromagnetic absorber fabricated using screen printing technology is proposed in this paper. We used a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrate to fabricate the stretchable absorber since PDMS exhibits good dielectric properties ...

Selection and experimental evaluation of low-cost porous materials for regenerator applications in thermoacoustic engines [PDF]
This paper aims at evaluating three selected low-cost porous materials from the point of view of their suitability as regenerator materials in the design of thermoacoustic travelling wave engines.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.
