Predicting Postresection Colorectal Liver Metastases Recurrence Using Advanced Graph Neural Networks with Explainability and Causal Inference

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a framework that combines graph neural networks with causal inference to forecast recurrence and uncover the clinical and pathological factors driving it. It further provides interpretability, validates risk factors via counterfactual and interventional analyses, and offers evidence‐based insights for treatment planning ...

An acoustic rectifier

Nature Materials, 2010
The detection of acoustic signals is of relevance for a range of practical applications, for example in medical diagnostics. However, whereas rectification of electric current and other energy forms such as thermal flux has been demonstrated, acoustic rectification has not yet been achieved. Here, on the basis of the earlier theoretical proposal of an '

Rectifying Behavior in Coulomb Blockades: Charging Rectifiers

Physical Review Letters, 2002
We introduce examples of tunneling and diffusive, Coulomb-regulated rectifiers based on the Coulomb blockade formalism in discrete and continuum systems, respectively. Nonlinearity of the interacting dynamics profoundly enhances the inherent asymmetry of the devices by reducing the Hilbert space of accessible states.

Rectify

Proceedings of the 18th ACM/IFIP/USENIX Middleware Conference, 2017
Web applications hosted on the cloud are exposed to cyberattacks and can be compromised by HTTP requests that exploit vulnerabilities. Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings often provide a backup service that allows restoring application state after a serious attack, but all valid state changes since the last backup are lost. We propose Rectify, a new
