Increased Pediatric Head and Neck Abscesses Following the COVID‐19 Pandemic
The Laryngoscope, EarlyView.This study evaluated the impact of the COVID‐19 pandemic on pediatric head and neck abscesses at two tertiary care centers. Overall head and neck abscess incidence increased more than threefold in the post‐pandemic period compared with the pre‐pandemic period, with increases observed across all major abscess subtypes.

Maxillomandibular Advancement Outcomes in Obstructive Sleep Apnea by Age and Gender
The Laryngoscope, EarlyView.This systematic review and meta‐analysis of 36 studies (608 patients) found that maxillomandibular advancement significantly improves polysomnographic, cephalometric, and subjective measures of obstructive sleep apnea across both sexes and throughout the lifespan. Odds of surgical cure decline roughly 3% per year of age.

Effects of Intubation Duration on Trachea: A Histopathological Study
The Laryngoscope, EarlyView.This study evaluated the histopathological effects of prolonged endotracheal intubation on the human trachea using biopsy specimens obtained during tracheotomy. Prolonged intubation was associated with progressive inflammatory and structural changes, with tracheal dilatation and perichondritis increasing significantly after 14 days.

Vocal Fold Atrophy in Patients With Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias
The Laryngoscope, EarlyView.This is the first study to quantify vocal fold atrophy in patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) using endoscopic imaging. Compared with age‐matched controls, AD/ADRD patients showed significantly greater vocal fold bowing and reduced mucosal wave amplitude, while normalized glottal gap area did not differ.
