Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

New recurrences for Euler''s partition function

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS, 2017
Summary: In this paper, the author invokes some consequences of the bisectional pentagonal number theorem to derive two linear recurrence relations for Euler's partition function \(p(n)\). As a corollary of these results, we obtain an efficient method to compute the parity of Euler's partition function \(p(n)\) that requires only the parity of \(p(k)\)

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Deep learning-based pathway-centric approach to characterize recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma after liver transplantation

open access: yesHuman Genomics
Background Liver transplantation (LT) is offered as a cure for Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), however 15–20% develop recurrence post-transplant which tends to be aggressive.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

The Hyperspherical Functions of a Derivative

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2010
We present the results of theoretical research of the generalized hypersherical function (HS) by generalizing two known functions related to the sphere hypersurface and hypervolume and the recurrent relation between them.

At the Edge of Criticality: Markov Chains with Asymptotically Zero Drift

open access: yes, 2016
In Chapter 2 we introduce a classification of Markov chains with asymptotically zero drift, which relies on relations between first and second moments of jumps.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.
