ABSTRACT We report a rare case of bacteremia caused by Clostridium butyricum following endoscopic ultrasound‐guided peripancreatic fluid drainage (EUS‐PFD) for walled‐off necrosis (WON) in a patient with alcoholic chronic pancreatitis. The patient underwent EUS‐PFD using a plastic stent (PS) for WON, initially with a good response.

Current Treatment Options in Gastroenterology, 2001
Patients with recurrent acute pancreatitis should be treated with the same supportive and symptom-oriented measures as those with acute pancreatitis. The need for specific treatment depends on the cause of the pancreatitis. The etiology of recurrent acute pancreatitis appears to be multifactorial, with genetic and environmental influences playing a ...

Idiopathic recurrent acute pancreatitis
The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, 2018Idiopathic recurrent acute pancreatitis is clinically challenging and has substantial socioeconomic consequences. Investigations are expensive and often reveal little about the cause of the disease. Little is known about the interaction between genetic, environmental, anatomical, and other factors that contribute to the disease.

Idiopathic acute recurrent pancreatitis
The American Journal of Gastroenterology, 2001Acute recurrent pancreatitis (ARP) results most commonly from alcohol abuse or gallstone disease. Initial evaluation fails to detect the cause of ARP in 10-30% of patients, and as a result the diagnosis of "idiopathic" ARP is given. In these patients, a more extensive evaluation including specialized labs, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, or magnetic ...
