Refractory Pericardial Effusion Secondary to Central Hypothyroidism due to Empty Sella Syndrome: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Refractory pericardial effusion with a low free T4 but inappropriately normal TSH should prompt evaluation for central hypothyroidism, including pituitary MRI to identify treatable causes such as empty sella syndrome. Glucocorticoid cover must precede levothyroxine to prevent adrenal crisis in patients with possible hypopituitarism.

Unusual Hemodynamic Presentation of Pediatric Kikuchi‐Fujimoto Disease: Persistent Sinus Bradycardia and Vasopressor‐Dependent Hypotension

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Kikuchi‐Fujimoto disease rarely presents with vasopressor‐dependent hypotension requiring pediatric intensive care despite preserved cardiac function. This case highlights the importance of early excisional lymph node biopsy for timely diagnosis and appropriate management of children with unexplained hemodynamic instability and necrotizing ...

Acute Pancreatitis Presenting With ST‐Segment Elevation and Marked Troponin Elevation: A Diagnostic Dilemma in a Resource‐Limited Setting—A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Acute pancreatitis can present with ST‐segment elevation and marked troponin elevation, mimicking acute coronary syndrome. In resource‐limited settings where coronary angiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and serial high‐sensitivity troponin testing are unavailable, distinguishing acute myocardial injury associated with pancreatitis

Therapy of recurrent pericarditis

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2004
We read with interest the paper by Raatikka et al. [(1)][1]that gives us a useful piece of information regarding pericarditis in children. The data are relevant, particularly regarding the good long-term outcome, with no instance of constriction, in agreement with our experience in adults.

Diagnostic Performance of Complete Blood Count Derived Indices for Acute Coronary Syndrome in Emergency Department Patients With Acute Chest Pain: A Single‐Center Retrospective Diagnostic Accuracy Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Acute coronary syndrome (ACS), as one of the cardiovascular diseases, plays a significant role in patient mortality. Although appropriate diagnostic methods have been introduced for ACS, it still remains a challenge for physicians. Therefore, utilizing additional markers and ratios for the diagnosis of ACS can be beneficial.

Clinical Advantages and Pitfalls of Pulsed Field Ablation: How to Prevent ALH Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Pulsed‐field (PF) Ablation Index (combined with average contact force and number of PF pulses) accurately predicted lesion depth in the prospective validation study. Importantly, no lesion formation was observed in the absence of electrode–tissue contact when the ablation electrode was positioned only 1–2 mm away from the endocardium. ABSTRACT Catheter
