Detection of flickering edges: absence of a red–green edge detector

open access: yesVision Research, 1999
Kelly ((1975) Science, 188, 371-372) showed that a centrally-fixated, contrast-reversing edge has a very different effect on the detection of luminance and red-green flicker. Red-green flicker sensitivity was approximately 3-fold greater for a uniform field than for a 'split' field with the two sides flickering out-of-phase.

Species-Level Classification and Mapping of a Mangrove Forest Using Random Forest—Utilisation of AVIRIS-NG and Sentinel Data

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Although studies on species-level classification and mapping using multisource data and machine learning approaches are plenty, the use of data with ideal placement of central wavelength and bandwidth at appropriate spatial resolution, for the ...

Narrow band based and broadband derived vegetation indices using Sentinel-2 Imagery to estimate vegetation biomass [PDF]

open access: yesGlobal Journal of Environmental Science and Management, 2020
Forest’s ecosystem is one of the most important carbon sink of the terrestrial ecosystem. Remote sensing technology provides robust techniques to estimate biomass and solve challenges in forest resource assessment.

Study on red edge characteristics of rice spectral caused by nitrogen level

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2001
The canopy spectra of rice under different nitrogen levels were studied. Some red edge parameters in the first derivative reflectance curve (wavelength, amplitude and area of the red edge peak) were studied to evaluate rice leaf chlorophyll, LAI etc. Red

Classical and Quantum Plasmonics in Graphene Nanodisks: the Role of Edge States [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Edge states are ubiquitous for many condensed matter systems with multicomponent wave functions. For example, edge states play a crucial role in transport in zigzag graphene nanoribbons.

Linear transformation distance for bichromatic matchings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Let $P=B\cup R$ be a set of $2n$ points in general position, where $B$ is a set of $n$ blue points and $R$ a set of $n$ red points. A \emph{$BR$-matching} is a plane geometric perfect matching on $P$ such that each edge has one red endpoint and one blue ...

Potential of RapidEye and WorldView-2 Satellite Data for Improving Rice Nitrogen Status Monitoring at Different Growth Stages

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2017
For in-season site-specific nitrogen (N) management of rice to be successful, it is crucially important to diagnose rice N status efficiently across large areas within a short time frame.

Gravity-modes in ZZ Ceti Stars. II. Effects of Turbulent Dissipation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We investigate dynamical interactions between turbulent convection and g-mode pulsations in ZZ Ceti variables (DAVs). Since our understanding of turbulence is rudimentary, we are compelled to settle for order of magnitude results.
