Ground survey of red lechwe in the Linyanti swamps and Chobe floodplains, northern Botswana

open access: yesKoedoe: African Protected Area Conservation and Science, 2017
A ground survey of red lechwe was carried out in the Linyanti swamps and the Chobe floodplains of northern Botswana in the dry and wet seasons of 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Optical Behavior of Nile Red in Organic and Aqueous Media Environments

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
A simple model is proposed to calculate the dimerization constant of a dye in non-aqueous solvents. Alkan-1ols of the formula H–(CH2)n–OH are used to study the spectroscopic behavior of Nile Red dye. The number n varied from 1 to 8 to modulate the medium

Modified model of Newtonian gravitation.

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2011
Within the limits of the classical mechanics for planets of the Solar system a new form of gravitational potential is suggested. The following effects are considered: perihelion advance of the planets, deviation of light beams in the field of the Sun ...

An overview on the quasar redshifts

open access: yesRevista Técnica de la Facultad de Ingeniería, 2011
An overview of the foundations of modem cosmology a well as the controversies about physical association between high-red shift quasi-stellar objects and low-red shift galaxies are presented. This kind of evidence challenges the current velocity-distance

Pink illusions and white shifts

open access: yesi-Perception
A rotating stimulus of alternating red and white sectors generates a faint pink fill throughout the image. The trailing cyan after images of the red sectors quickly become the brightest regions in the image, providing an index of the overall illumination

Modeling of the second harmonic generation in a lens-shaped InAs/GaAs quantum core/shell dot under temperature, pressure and applied electric field effects

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
In this paper, we explore the second harmonic generation (SHG) in a lens-shaped InAs/GaAs quantum core/shell (LSQCS). The three-dimensional Schrödinger equation is given under the framework of the effective mass approximation and it is solved by using ...

Actively tunable terahertz chain-link metamaterial with bidirectional polarization-dependent characteristic

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
A tunable terahertz (THz) chain-link metamaterial (CLM) is presented, which is composed of a tailored Au layer fabricated on Si substrate. CLM exhibits bidirectional polarization-dependent characteristic by applying a direct-current (dc) bias voltage on ...

Red Shift in a Laboraory Environment

open access: yes, 2011
A hypotheses of energy loss for polarization of e-e+ vacuum by a photon passing interstellar space is considered. An excitation and relaxation of vacuum can't run with speed of light due to very small but finite fraction of e-e+ pair mass that creates a retardment in recuperation of deposited energy back to photon.

Tuning the Emission Energy of Chemically Doped Graphene Quantum Dots

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2016
Tuning the emission energy of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) and understanding the reason of tunability is essential for the GOD function in optoelectronic devices.
