Influence of disorder and a parallel magnetic field on a Quantum Cascade Laser
The luminescence spectra of a quantum cascade laser in a strong magnetic field is influenced significantly by the presence of disorder (charged or neutral) in the system.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

mBeRFP, an improved large stokes shift red fluorescent protein.
Herein, we describe the generation of a monomeric large Stokes shift (LSS) red fluorescent protein, mBeRFP, with excitation and emission peaks at 446 and 615 nm, respectively. Compared with two previously reported LSS-RFPs (mKeima and LSS-mKate2), mBeRFP

Proposal for an Optical Test of the Einstein Equivalence Principle
The Einstein Equivalence Principle (EEP) underpins all metric theories of gravity. Its key element is the local position invariance of non-gravitational experiments, which entails the gravitational red-shift.

In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Ultrasensitive bionic photonic-electronic skin with wide red-shift mechanochromic response
Mimicking animal skin is an effective strategy for enhancing the performance of artificial skin. Inspired by a chameleon’s iridophore and a spider’s slit organ, a novel photonic-electronic skin (PE-skin) with excellent optical/electrical dual-sensing ...

The Electron Spin Resonance (Esr) Spectra of Potassium-Alumina-Borate Glass Doped with Copper Ions
We investigate electron spin resonance (ESR), absorption, and photoluminescence spectra of potassium-boron copper-containing glasses. In previous works it was found, that the considered glasses demonstrate a red shift of photoluminescence.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...
